Individual analysis of 3 existing Horror Trailers in booklet (Lesson 1.1)

Individual analysis of 3 existing Horror Trailers in booklet I will be analyzing three different monster sub genres focusing on: Mis en scene, Camera, Editing and Sound.  Sub genre Monsters: Godzilla 1954 trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKrj1ymJzmo The sub genre of monsters is a classic trait as a horror film as it is easy to identify and audience are very attracted to it. Specifically speaking of the Godzilla trailer made in 1954 by Japanese creator Ishiro Honda. Essay on Genre theorists

Essay on Genre theorists The trailer that I will be analysing is from ‘Splasher Splasher productions’. Their teaser trailer was very interesting as it included some horror conventions such as the corridor of doom which is ideal as it helps set the scene for their trailer. In addition the trailer includes one of the five genre theorists in it as well; Rick Altman seems to have played a vital role in the trailer as it seems this production gave off an emotional pleasure as it proves that the use of blackouts and eerie, intense music helps set a certain tone to the trailer as it may imply how the audience should be feeling at that very moment.  Furthermore the trailer also could be classed as an urban genre as urban genres are usually dark and broadcast the underside of a city. This trailer shown could also be shown in another view point as the use of the trailer could be made into a parody, the fact that its the same footage as many other horror trailers insights the audience to g
